As members of RAW and SmackDown team up to get ready to do battle at Survivor Series, some intrigue remained after the fallout from SmackDown’s broadcast on Tuesday.
SmackDown General Manager Paige announced a team that included Charlotte Flair, but the former SmackDown champion was curiously absent from the segment. Paige also delayed the announcement of a team captain for the 5-on-5 traditional elimination women’s match. It’s rumored that Flair will be team captain, but it’s a bit puzzling why WWE is leaving it up in the air at this point. The rest of the team for the traditional 5-on-5 women’s elimination match included Asuka, Naomi, Carmella and Sonya Deville.
Mandy Rose continued her heel turn and possible turn on Deville which was teased during the Evolution Battle Royal when she eliminated Deville. Rose came out to the ring and belittled each of the team members in trying to make a case for herself to be included. She then dished out innuendo concerning Naomi’s husband, Jimmy Uso, which was answered with retribution from Naomi before Deville broke up a possible brawl and sent Rose out of the ring. However, Rose glared at her former Absolution faction mate a long time. Here is a video of the segment below:
It was announced on tonight’s WWE SmackDown that there will be a 5-on-5 Tag Team Traditional Elimination Match at Survivor Series. The two teams will be made up of 5 tag teams from each brand, making it a 10-man match. The Usos will be the Team Captains for the SmackDown team. They selected The New Day to join them and they will announce the final three teams on next Tuesday’s go-home show. There’s no word yet on which RAW tag teams will be in the match but we should find out next Monday
SmackDown also saw the confirmation on the Men’s Team SmackDown. It will be The Miz, Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe, Rey Mysterio and SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon doing battle. Bryan and The Miz are the Team Co-Captains.
